Good places to live?
So, what are some good and affordable places to live?
Just curious whta everyone things... you need to have visited there for a long period of time, havelived there once in your life or currently live there.
I would say Folsom, CA where I live is an awesome place to live but the cost of living is WAY to much for what you get, and the price increase has gone all the way up the mountain to Lake Tahoe
I was looking at Alabama (some random city) and for 150k you can get 5 acres, 2car garage + other garage, 2400sq.ft house... now would the QOL be the same as CA probably not but is it "that bad" ?? These are things I`d like to know

It depends on your definition and "good" and "affordable" really. Those can differ greatly from person to person.

Singapore is good, too. But if we retire we need our pension (Social Security)to be stretched out. So we purchased a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath in Cavite, Philippines for $30,000 near the beaches. Payable in 10 years. We bought it in 2000. $280 a month.

I live in a Cleveland, OH suburb and its pretty affordable. The cost of living is decent and so on. Good schools, best medical.
But whenever I go to BIG cities (like NYC), I fall in love with that. I think I'd love to live in a big city for awhile.

Where I live is affordable, but its not where I want to be for the rest of my life - my plan is to move abroad, or to be close to a beach, and the sea.

Huntsville, Alabama is considered to be the Silicon Valley of the south. We have the Space & Rocket Center, NASA, and Redstone Arsenal Military Base along with Research Park, which is an area much like Silicon Valley with Businesses such as Adtran.
The Quality of life is very good. Low crime rate, high income compared to living costs.

Wow, just did some research on Huntsville... it really does sound like a nice place to live.

Question: Why does one reviewer say " Don't live in Northeast or East Huntsville." ?
I checked out some homes on realtor.com and it looks like for 150-250 you can find some very very nice homes!

He's my best friend and "hero" (personal reasons) but of course he won't admit to it. Did you listen to him on the radio? He used to mention me in his shout outs. Now, he's doing what he loves and he's happy.
