What Would You Do If Facebook and Youtube Shut Down?

Just asking - what would people do if suddenly Facebook and Youtube shut down?

To be honest I could care less about Facebook, if youtube shutdown i'd be kind of sad because I like the documentaries and music on there.

Sometimes I use Youtube a lot, but for the past year or so I'm barely there.

Facebook would bother me, because I keep up with a lot of my friends and my family there. I don't have all their emails outside facebook, and it's just so convenient to put something out there and everyone can see it.

As far as games or just playing around or whatever else one does on FB, no big deal. I would only miss keeping up with people.

Must say though, I've met new people, seeing comments on friends' pages, and if I really liked what they had to say, I'd send a message and a friend request. I've made some really good friends that way, and I'd lose all of them too, since we don't really talk outside of FB. I only wish the few I really care about that aren't on FB would be, because I tend to let the email contacts slip and I'm not in touch as often as I like.

Facebook, not at all, Youtube? I'd be shattered. I spend a lot of time on youtube when I'm not working because its easy to get to all the old school music I used to listen to, and new music that cannot be found here where I live.

For Youtube? I'd be not that much affected. But for Facebook? I'd be sad because opening my account is part of my daily routine.

I noticed that one.

But it's not a good replacement for me until and unless all the people I keep up with on Facebook migrate over there, since it's the people that interest me about visiting Facebook.

There once was MySpace. And so on. When I first joined Facebook, everyone was on the fence trying to decide if they wanted to be on FB or MySpace, and it took a while to get my contacts through Facebook.

I see Google's new one as being the same.

It will never happen, but I kind of wish there was only one, and everyone would be there. Then it would be simple to connect with everyone in one place. But of course, that limits the freedom of people to develop ... so I couldn't really support it. From a user standpoint, it would be nice though.

If facebook shutdown well I am sure we found find something else to amuse our selves. Still it is fun for an a hour a day. Youtube also is great and would be a loss to the internet if it shut down as it throws up almost everything from tutorials to documentaries to music videos.

I care much less about Facebook but if Youtube shut downs, I'll be devastated. Maybe, I'll start using Dailymotion, it's good after all.

If Facebook shuts down, there is always Google+. I think it's a good concept, but it can't compete with Facebook and it's momentum. However, if Facebook was out of the way, I'm sure Google+ will grow in popularity. Aside from Google+, there are other social networks out there. I think Friendster and MyYearBook may still be around.

There are also plenty of alternatives to YouTube as well.

I would probably cry for days. Just kidding

facebook -useful tool, overestimated to a point, good for networking
youtube -unique database on just about anything which I definitely would miss

General conclusion, I would be mostly indifferent to the first case and rather disappointed in the second case

Facebook and Youtube are some of the most widely used websites on the internet. I can not imagine internet without these two. Most of my time spends on facebook and I also use youtube frequently.

Youtube, it doesn't matter. But with Facebook, it's a big deal coz I use it to communicate with my friends abroad.

there are other sources of video rather than youtube, but if facebook disappears, I will lose all of my contacts that I collected and it will be hard to find them again.
