Yes it is an interesting and disturbing subject.
One of the interesting things is the role of the internet in this type of thing, on one side maybe it's good that people can express their true feelings, on the other side is it good that people who are feeling that low and troubled are spending so much time with equaly troubled individuals? In other words is this the best way to get help?
It's worrying to think maybe some of the people who have taken part in that may no longer be with us.
No offence intended regarding my original reply, just the initial reaction to the title 'how to kill yourself'

My brother killed himself a long time ago. He was a sensitive guy. Too sentitive. I tend to be a fighter, and I could never kill myself.
He did it with a rifle in the mouth. I never really felt bad for him. I didn't even go to the funeral. Suicide is the easy way out. Stay here, on earth, and fight your enemies, fight whatever life dishes out, and kick some ass. That's the way I chose.
And, there is no surefire way to kill oneself. I knew a guy in Washington who put a pistol in his mouth and pulled the trigger. He lived, and was greatly disformed.

I think a lot of people think about killing themselves, but fewer actually do it. I agree it's the easy way out but for people who are really and truly depressed, it seems like an option. For kids though, I think it's one of those things that a lot of them think about - being a kid is tough. And in some crowds, thinking about killing yourself is a 'cool' thing to do. But I think that in some cases, being with and chatting with people who think about it, too, might not be a bad thing. An outlet of sorts.

Killing yourself may seem the easy way out to most but you have to remember that some people are mentally unstable and have even been prescribed the wrong kind of medication by their doctors.
This can lead them to an even deeper depression and none of us truly know what is going on in the other persons mind so to say it is the easy way out may ring true for some but not others.
Some people who suffer from autism may hear voices and see things and could quite easily hurt themselves or others. This can not be helped as it is a mental illness.
We do not not what is going on in someone else's mind and do not know how much/badly that person is suffering.

true but I've known two people to do it myself, and neither of them were on any meds.

Sorry to hear that dude but you don't need to be on medication to be mentally unstable.
Hell, a lot of the times even the docs get it wrong and prescribe the wrong drugs.

yeah, what these guys needed were hugs though. I'm not that fruity either... But they were just lonely kids. One was 13/14 and the other 15/16 I think. I was the same age at the time.

Dr or GP. No wait make that Guess person. Dr's are overhyped; they spend over 600 hours just learning about different manufacturers of drugs and what they sell. $$$ driven.

I tried many times in my teens years and into my 20's. As an abused child then an abused wife, I wanted out of life, period. No mental instability, no drugs, I simply wanted out.
Thank God I found a reason (many, in fact) to live and now I'm a happy camper
