What do you take for granted?

I was reminded how much I take running water for granted this mourning. The wife tells me we have low pressure, few minutes later we have no water pressure.

Our water table is extremely low with the lack of rain in the past few years. I was praying, "Lord, please don't let it be the well has gone dry." A few have in my area.

Went down to my local ACE Hardware and got a new D Square, the points were gone.

YES! That fixed it, SOOOOO Relieved!!

That's what prompted this new thread, so let's here it:

What do you take for granted?

We can all be guilty of taking basic things for granted ,i broke my arm and leg 21 years ago
it was only when i could not do so many daily things like walking and climbing stairs you then realize.

I can defiantly relate to that, while in the service I was accidentally shot through both biceps during a training exercise. Took about 7 months to heal. The healing was far more painful than getting shot. Lol

I think we take our good health, our family and our jobs (when we have them) for granted.

At least that is how it is for me.

This thread made me think and feel guilty ... I wanna call this "confession thread". ehehe ...

What am I taken for granted?
MrSS taken for granted his family, friends and other people concerning him. MrSS is a bit selfish and sometimes indifferent to the people surrounding him. But that doesn't mean I don't love 'em. I have this solitary / loner personality which is really written all over my face. I just love to be alone, looking over from outside, that gives (for me) a broader scope of what's really happening. Yet sometimes I failed to oversee it all.

That's why we should be thankful in every little aspect that we have. We never know how important a thing is not until it's gone.

What I have taken for granted? that would be time. That sometimes you think that what is today will be the same tomorrow.

Yup. This is a confession thread. It makes me think of the things I take for granted. Many to mention.

I take my teeth for granted.

I don't brush them as much as I should, nor do I floss. I often forget.

Every dentist I've been to has scolded me about my cavities.

Today my father almost choked on his dentures. I don't know if osteoporosis is responsible, but they don't stick in there anymore and he can barely talk to me sometimes. When he does that he looks really weird.

So teeth are there on the list.

He has a hunched back now. When he stands he needs not just a cane anymore but that huge frame thing that rolls in old tennis balls. Anyway I know one of his friends avoided that fate by having titanium spinal inserts.

I can only pray that I will be wealthy enough to afford spinal inserts so I don't turn into him.

There is a politician named Dick Cheney who got a robot heart. I day dream of having one, one that will not fail me.

Because when I am 80 I would like to chew my food, walk confidently without supports, and use the can without having a heart attack.

I think I take my health for granted because I'm generally healthy. This is a habit which I have to change.

Hmmm, an interesting thread. My item of choice would be little domestic daily chores and shopping. Due to the change of environment and working conditions I found myself in need of regular activities planning, because they are a lot more time consuming than I thought at first. I have a brilliant idea of doing them online or cloning myself to save time, in any case something has got to be done about this

Im sure like many others here I take a lot of the basics for granted like running water, electricity, food but if I am going beyond that it may sound soppy but probably my wife. She was away for a fe days and I though no worries I can handle the kids and stuff for a few days Ill cope. I was a wreck after 24 hours lol
