What Has Changed In The World Since You Were A Child?
What has changed in the world since you were a child?
Do you feel the changes have been mostly good? Mostly bad? Why?

Color TV. I don't watch much, but when I do that HD sure looks amazing.
That and the Cold War is over.

A browser is not a slow shopper.
Gay no longer means happy.
Cookies always came with milk.
Tweeting was what a bird did.
Ram was an animal.
A hard drive was done in a slow car.
I suppose I could rant on forever.

Changes have become mostly in positive manner .
Life has become more easy at the expense of your pocket and Life has become more difficult without sufficient money.

Things which were considered normal are now illegal or feared.
- Sitting on someones lap in a car as a child for a long journey to the seaside was considered normal by so many British families.
- Playing outside from Dawn until Dusk, there was no fear - we built dens, tree-houses, played football, tennis, hide and seek etc never caused any trouble and were respectful to adults. Now parents are scared to let their children wander.

I could get arrested for burning music CD's. (I don't do it the legal way)
I grew up inserting a big floppy disk into a huge computer and had to type DOS commands just to load a computer game that had terrible graphic's.
Now can turn the WII on and get a workout playing games.

Downloading speeds have improved significantly. Streaming media online was unheard of when I was a kid. I remember when my friend spent all summer downloading a Gig's worth of MP3's. It was a world record to us at the time.

Hahahahahahahaha!
Television was first broadcast in color the year I was born. It's gotten much better since then. And there are a lot more shows now.

Music has changed a lot for me. I grew up listening to rock.
(Since we hadn't invented the wheel yet, rock 'n' roll had to wait. )
<added>
I watched the original "American Bandstand" on our 13" black and white TV. (Dick Clark was a kid then.) We only got three broadcast channels, all from Philadelphia, and there was no such thing as cable TV.

We had two stations .. black and white .. went off the air at 9pm every evening with the National Anthem, even on weekends.
Our phone was on a party line .. two quick rings and one slow ring meant it was for us .. 4 quick rings and one slow ring meant it was for the neighbor down the road.
We had fun tho' .. little league baseball, grangehall dances and the county fair. .. Fishing, hunting, horseback riding and 4H .. never a dull moment.

um .. Grange Hall .. Farmers Grange/Co-op .. Dances, card playing, marriages, funerals .. nearly as popular as church .. a town meeting place. Back in my day it seemed that on the weekends, the boys down at the Grangehall raised more hell than they did Barley or Corn or anything else for that matter, and it was sort of our unofficial 4H headquarters too .. heh .. Good Times ... Good Times Indeed
I learned me the 10 step back in those days

Definitely technology changed. (Almost) everything is now quick, fast, instant. The internet has become part of our day to day lives. Yeah, I can't say it's not good, because I'm benefiting and enjoying it at the first place. However, for me it become bad when people tends to abuse it. Example ... people used chat to converse, yes, it's helpful. But when they're using it though they are only inches apart?! wtf? Okay, say they are saving their saliva.

Well the kid at Best Buy thought I was pulling his leg when I told him about "party line" phones back in the 70's. I had to look it up online right there in front of him to prove it!
LoL...
Boy did I just age myself

I was born in the early 80's and seen a lot of changes from my childhood up to this date. Some are good and some are bad. I think some of the bad changes that I've seen is how the economy on my part of the world gets worst and worst. Also, some kids nowadays doesn't know how to "respect" older people anymore. The good part is that technology has really changed a lot in any part of the world.
One example of what technology did is this:
