Thumbs down How can I increase my language skill?

Hello everybody.

I want to increase my English language skills. I need to practice, I know. But how can I do that?

May anyone give me some advice?
If someone want to speaking practice, I'm ready right now.

1. Read English books
2. Talk to people, in english.
3. Use a dictionary and thesaurus.
4. Check out EngVid.com (free english video lessons).
5. Vocabulary.com & Knoword.org are great for building your vocabulary.
6. Ask questions, ask people to explain again, in a different way to help you better understand.

Have you tried EnglishBaby.com?

it looks interesting. You can find english pen pals. They have chat rooms with vision (aim, goal, mission) for helping people learn english.

I don't know and I aren't going to choose a partner for you

Seriously, the best way to learn English is summerging yourself in a English environment.

It could be vacations in English-speaking countries, TV, movies, youtube videos, internet, etc

I started to learn English when I was 37 years old, trust me it is harder when you are getting old. The first year it was extremely hard because in US there are so many accents and the English American is a little bit different than the English from England.

It is all about adaptation, listening and vocabulary.

I like to speak and write in English, of course I wish I could do better, but I didn't go to school for that beside the basic, so it takes more time for me.

My wife is tirelessly behind my butt when I make a mistake in English lol

Try working with BPO companies, doing call center jobs. That would be the fastest way to improve a lot in English.

Try talking using that language fluently, practice makes perfect. But I admit I'm still having bad English grammar.

Watch English movies/series so that you'll learn new words then talk English in front of the mirror. It's a good exercise

Besides the obvious things like : reading books, magazines and nespapers, watching movies and TV you shouldn't be afraid to talk to people and you should seek out native speakers. After a short period your vocabulary, accent and even grammar will improve, but you have to be ready to make some silly mistakes in the beggining.
