First, it isn't much of a change. Think of it as a URL change if you wish. We are not going to delete the old posts. We are keeping the old posts.
Since starting the Webmaster Forum less than a year ago, we proved some things and blazed some trails. We created a friendly community of professionals. We proved that we could be one of the more active webmaster forums, and at the same time remain a warm and friendly community. We never saw the need to become authoritarian, like so many other forums.
I consider this a huge accomplishment on all our parts.
Having seen the success on that level, I wondered what could be done to take it to the next level? What if we added forum moderators? What if we added content and resources to the site? What would it take to make this community the leading - and I do mean leading- community of professionals on the Internet?
A re-design. More and more useful content. And lots of promotion.
So, that's the plan. :wink:
As long as the URL is just "webmaster forum", then that's all it'll ever be - a forum. I hope we can make this a lot more than a forum. We can add more and more webmaster/ SEO / marketing resources.
Whatever it takes to make this place the best on the Internet.
Great Idea!!!!! I hope it works!!!! I will continue to come here, i just have to remember the url. Webmaster-Forums has been a great forum, and I hope this will be too
Don't Like The Idea. No offence but I liked WF. I think you should still use WF. I vote on going back but it seems I am the only one that feels that way. I just like WF. IMR is not going to be as apealing as WF was to webmaster. I hope nobody hates me but I liked WF better and I say go back.
