I'm listening to some woman in Panera Bread restaurant telling her friends about this great piece of property she just bought, how she got it for such a good deal, how it is just so perfect and all the things she's got planned for it, on and on and on and on. It's lot three, in the back of the second section of the Cedar Hills development...blah, blah, blah.
She's beginning to give me a headache.
I've known people who move into a development with a fancy name, something like Heather Park, and when they tell their friends where they live they always say they live in "Heather Park", even though Heather Park is only a development on a street in Omaha that most people have never heard of and couldn't care less about anyway. They live in Omaha but can't seem to say that, maybe because it doesn't sound prestigious enough to them.
People like that make me sick. They usually drive a very late-model Lexus or Infinity.
Pretentiousness is so pretentious!
