If it's just a webcafe where the majority of customers will be travellers, then it won't matter what the decoration is, providing that theres a high speed internet access, a few different types of drinks (not everyone loves coffee) and that's about it.

When I was travelling around Malaysia and Australia I paid no attention to the decoration or surroundings as all I wanted to do was reply and send email.

If it's going to be namley locals then that's different, as they will probably come to relax and have a coffee or go on to the internet, so decoration and atmosphere is important.

You should have some of those iced coffee/cappucino drinks too. Unless those aren't popular there...

I think you should do the decor in drawings of poo. I'm not kidding either. I hear that there are strong fascinations in the society over there with poo. that people talk about it openly and if (for example) you see someone doodling on a napkin or something that most of the time they are drawing little piles of poo.

I would do like cartoon style poo paintings and frame them. Maybe even find some fake poo for the tables and such.

The turd -- presented in Japan as a prettified swirl resembling soft ice cream -- has become a recurring motif in Japanese pop culture. There's there's even a term for it -- maki guso -- which roughly translates as "curlicue poo."
You could name the place something like "The internet is poop" in Japanese. And have a neon swrily poop out front flashing.

i think I'm on to something here.

I know it's a big joke around the internet... but I heard a podcast just a few weeks back where a guy was amazed by all the poo talk and jokes in the culture right now. And the guy was serious.

If I lived there, I'd do it.

"The Steaming Turd Café" does have a certain ring to it.

I'm sold anyway

Well it seemed to be getting away from cafe and more toward internet room... cafe and steamy turd just seem a bit like they don't belong together.
