If you were in a bank and it got robbed... and you were held hostage with a group of people (women and kids included), the madman hostage taker has already killed two people and will kill more before it's over...

Next you find a spit second where you could gain control of one of the madman's weapons and end the whole ordeal... would you feel comfortable enough with it to make your move? or would you just have to wait it out and hope you are not the next to die?

I would hope that no one would have to go through something like that... but I think every person on this earth should know how to use the weapons around them.

Either take a few small leassons with the local law enforcement, or go blow some money on karate lessons... just know how to protect yourself and not be afraid that looking at a fake gun is going to warp your mind.

I think you and John are misunderstanding. I don't think if my kids would've played with a toy gun they would be "warped" or "ruined."

Let me say this...I don't have anything against REAL guns at all. My dad always had them, but he kept them locked up. I never learned to shoot anything but a paintball gun....and that was fairly recently.

My only point was that there are a million other things that are better and more educational for kids to play with, than toy guns. I just don't see how it could be considered fun and productive for kids to pretend to shoot each other dead.

Also....I don't believe in forcing a child to play with "gender specific" toys. Both of my kids played dress up....both played with dolls....both play sports and do all kinds of art projects. All of the educational toys and games they had were completely unisex.

I understand your point but I agree with Juggo every one should be able to defend themselvs & those other educational toys won't help... "stay back I can spell & add." I guess it comes from where I live in southern Arkansas where ya know we are all a bunch of hillbillies that shoot at 7 yr olds all day.

So now we're letting the kids play with the guns so they will know how to defend themselves??? Sheesh - i thought it was a game.

I never said educational toys were a waste of time. My daughter has many.

No, play with toy guns while learning to respect it like a real weapon.

ROFL - and how is it we teach them up? Do they lock them up and make sure not to point it at one another?
