Btw John, that link you provided is from the nida, who are known to lie about cannabis since decades, it's the fear mongering institute from the US government.

Because it threatened the tobacco industry over a century ago.

There is no doubt that D9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) impairs its users' cognitive and psychomotor abilities to an extent largely determined by the inhaled or ingested dose. It is also certain that the dose preferred by cannabis smokers (around 300 ~g/kg) is sufficient for impairing performance in potentially dangerous tasks such as driving

From the link you provided. Ferre, it really is nonsense. I've seen people too stoned to the point that they were falling down stairs and laughing about it.

I got my first contact high as a passenger in a car and I passed out, and woke up laughing 10 minutes later. I think it's an invidual thing... depends on tolerance and other factors.
for example I have a buddy (who is a non-drinker now) that can't drive for crap... scares me to ride with him. But 10 years ago he was a drunk and he drove better (back then) then anyone I have ever ridden with.
It depends on the person, the influence, and other factors. I think in a country where it's illegal, the police did the right thing here.

In high school, a friend of mine drove home while stoned. He wrecked his car and died about 1/2 mile from his house. There was no alcohol at all in his blood.
I don't think you need to be a member of MENSA to figure out that he was impaired by the pot.

If people want to smoke it, I ain't got a problem with that. But smoking and driving is just as bad as drinking and driving.

I don't think it's the same as drinking, however LACK OF SLEEP is probably worse than anything including alcohol.

Some people pass out from smoking pot, Atom. Would you rather be ran over by a guy who drank two glasses of wine, or a passed out driver?

I have never seen pot make anyone pass out, nor have I ever heard such a statement in all my life.

Bullshit, Atom. I posted here on v7n more than once that I passed out from it, on a jobsite. And Juggo just posted it above your post:

I have smoked a lot of weed in the past and know for a fact I would be totally incapable of driving after smoking.

In my case, I smoked and minutes later I was out like a light. I think that's not too uncommon for people who don't smoke a lot.
