That's one of my main quirks about how the rep works here, even spammers like myself gets to be full rep in no time.
Yes I am ripping on myself, I should not have as much rep as the senior members here, yet I have had it forever.

Changes were made to the rep system here, recently. It's not as easy to go full green anymore. But, rest assured, the green will come, EGS.

I like DP because I can ask a question and get a response quickly.

I don't often see questions go unanswered for long here. A lot depends on the way the question is posed.

This place ROCKS compared to DP. I just logged into DP for the first time in a while.
Someone searched up a post I made about Linux in 2004 and gave me red rep TODAY at 9pm or so.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showt...6212#post56212
The comments read "Windows Rocks!".
Now that guy whoever it was being as they were faceless and didnt leave their name is quite the loser.
Case and Point.

The rep system there is a joke because it's anonymous.
"Anonymous reputation" is an oxymoron.
It's like "military intelligence" or "political solution".

My argument all along man. Only cowards post red reps without making sure the person they are giving it to knows who gave it.
Oh well I better stop before my words end up being turned into something they arent.

Do people over there actually think they hurt someone's feelings by giving a red rep?? It's just a red dot thingie, right?

It's not about hurting someone’s feelings man. If the rep is taken seriously while people think about doing business with you then red = bad.
If your rep is red then they won’t bother contacting you.
Yes alot of work comes from referral.
However, some business might come just from reading your posts and seeing your work.
If you have a bad rep rating the people that don’t know you wont spend more than a second thinking about contracting you out before they decide to move on and look for another.
Also the point I was trying to make this whole time is that people are cowards or faceless if they dont bother to include their name when they give you bad rep.
It's nice to know who is unhappy with you so you can ask them why they are upset and maybe even resolve the situation. Wow what a novel idea eh?
