Anyone ever built a house?
I am just finishing; anyone ever been crazy enough to do it?
I cant believe how stressful, problematic, hard work, but, in the end, fantastic it has been.
Anyone had the same experience?

I've built many homes and apartments. I also own my own construction company.
Too many variables to ever go smoothly because you are dealing with so many companies that are always too busy.

Don't own a construction company but I have had my hand in building 3 homes. Since I was a wee little one carrying nails till the last house my parents live in where I was involved from laying the foundation to screwing in the light bulbs.
Its fun and stressful at the same time, you just have to have patience and a fat wallet.

I used to do construction, for ten years. Was a contractor, and ran some large crews. A big part of my business was pick up work. That is, going into buildings that other contractors had built, and fixing all their ****ups. If other licensed contractors are screwing up, you know that do-it -yourselfers are making some serious mistakes, so I was never for it.

Once I built one with toothpicks. I tried and failed at one with popsicle sticks.
I hope to work my way up to cards in a few years...

I built a miniature house for 11th grade honors physics class. I had working electric lights inside it and everything. It turned out super cool. I used real shingles and stuff for the roof, real carpet, and I decorated the inside....and I gave the house some nice landscaping. Uh...I think the point of it was the electrical ( I don't remember what concept ), which is what I did..but I went above and beyond in my attention to detail Cuz I'm a nerd like that.

Takes about a year to build a decent house with a full crew of builders here (none of this wooden house crap that americans seem to have), so, nope, never have or will.

My physics class project was a ball-bearing roller coaster. Incredibly fun. The mark was based on some equation requiring loops and length of run. We put a funnel in which gave us an extra ten seconds for a 100 on the ISP.

I built a three bay garage from standing white pine that I logged from my property and sawed into rough-cut lumber at my next door neighbor's who had a bell saw he used for building pallets. Solid 6x6 in. corners etc, was pretty kool. That was kind of fun. I haven't built a house but have helped build/repair several.

I helped with a Habitat for Humanity house, but I really just helped with siding, putting up sheet rock, and painting.
