If I accept a friend request and want them to be my friend as well, do I need to add their name in the box and click "friend"? I guess the plus signs beside the names have me a little confused. For example, I accepted Strongy's request but didn't enter his name in the add friend/contact box then click "friend", and when I go to his profile page I don't see a plus sign by my name, and I'm thinking that's why. I'm also thinking that I just awoke and have had very little coffee as of yet. Thankfully there's always lack of coffee to blame things on.

I have you listed as one of my friends Atom. I'm a little confused by this too.
If someone requests to be your friend their avi appears at the bottom of the Friends and contacts page, sort of shadowed with a check box for you to accept them as a friend. So far I've just selected the box and saved and all has been well.
The plus sign (+) by a members name just denotes that you had them listed as a friend before the update. If you look at my page, you should see only costin with a + sign. (I never could work out the friends thing before, so I never really used it).
You seem to have nine friends that I can see at present.

Atom: may I correct myself. The + seems to denote those friends who are currently logged on.

I think that the plus sign is a personal reminder of who your friends are, therefore I don't think that anyone see's anyone else's plus signs but their own i.e 'personal'. Does that sound right to you? So, even if I did look at your profile page, I wouldn't see a plus sign by Costin's name.

Sorry Atom. I think it has something to do with who is online, see post #8907.

Yes I saw that, but it doesn't make sense as there are plus signs all over the currently active users list. I believe that it must be a personal reminder of one's own friends.

Sad you can't be friends with yourself after all, if I don't like me nobody here will

Right. That makes sense.
Edit: No, it doesn't make sense. The fact that the currently active user list contains a name at all is evidence that the + is only needed to indicate to you personally who your friends are, as I stated previously in post #8910. Make sense?

I think that the + sign is solely a personal reminder of who your friends are. For example, on my profile page, Lickster has a + sign by his name in the recent visitors window, however, he is not online right now.
