I'll translate.
Konichiwa - Hello (a standard Japanese greeting)
Anatawa - You
Nipon - Japan
Jin - suffix, connotes race or origin. So "nipon-jin" means Japanese.
"desu ka" - an article. When added to a sentence, it becomes a question.
So Mikuru said: "Hello, are you Japanese?"
I already talked with Mikuru, we'll stop speaking our native tongue from now on, our apologies.

Well, there's proof that GT has no idea what it's talking about. Gt said it was Maltese even after I obviously tried Japanese. Weird.
Oh, Jenie...better not say "tongue"...coming from you Strongy will go into cardiac arrest. hehe
Oh that reminds me. I noticed someone around here saying hihi after nearly everything they said. Is that a Japanese expression?

I haven't seen that person yet but I'm sure it is not Japanese.
I think it's a trying-to-sound-cute giggle.

@Blackeyes - Konichiwa can also be used to say Good Afternoon. There are a lot of greetings in Japan and the list is getting longer by the year.
@Lolito_Nakayama - I guess I am! Well, honestly even my parents can't tell me my origin! LOL. I could teach you but I need to review my handbook.
