Boy those things are fast. That is what I am thinking.

I went to a model airplane show, took over 200 pictures. Out of the 160 or so that were airborne I may have captured 2 or 3 that are clear enough to share. I have many nice cloud shots. Those little devils are fast.

Still have some U-line models from the 60's, including a Lightning (combat) and a Nobler (stunt), hanging in my garage.

Never having been to one before I was completely engrossed. This might be a fun thing to do. Common sense hit me on the way home. These at least some of the ones I saw have to be very expensive toys. Care to comment on that?

That little jet was a screaming demon.

Haven't done any flying in decades. But, do know that kits - which are the most common source - for control line (CL) birds are still cheap; same is probably true for for radio control (RC).

And, a quick look at the prices of Fox CL engines shows that they've not kept pace with inflation; prices for the Fox RC engines aren't all that much more.

As for the venerable McCoy engines, they're now antiques, but still available on, for example, eBay: McCoy airplane engine.

To the best of my knowledge, that is George Aldrich, designer of the Nobler series, with his 1968 Gieseke Nobler, distinguishable by the skirts on the wheel struts.

Just remembered that I also have a Nobler Junior and a Barnstormer as well.

Yahoo margaritas are better than Mountain Dew (the soft drink kind).

I'm thinking about the 6.8 earth quack that happened recently 500 km away from my city (still shacked our buildings), There is a chance of 8 soon. Very scared... So guys if you don't see me posting after some days, I'll probably never post again.

Stay in open areas with no tall structures about.

Whoa?! 6.8 magnitude? That was way too strong. Be safe buddy, we can't afford to loose some useful member like you.
Have a evacuation plan, so whenever you folks get apart you will know where to meet. Keep safe. God bless!

Wish I could escape from this-one of the most densely populated city (Dhaka), tall structures (usually 6 storied) everywhere, almost no open ground. The only way is may be the village where we are not used to and not really possible. We are just so much wired with the cities in modern days aren't we? Even if we are scared I don't know if we can do much about it.

Thanks buddy.! Just hoping for the best. May be I can start a thread and ask for tips and does and don't before/during/after the quack.

If 8 hits nearby Dhaka, I heard the death roll might be somewhere between 5,000,000-10,000,000 . Could be one of the most devastating event in human history.
