During the 2009 elections, Sheriff B.J. Roberts of Hampton, Virginia supposedly learned that a handful of his employees were supporting one of his opponents, Jim Adams, by clicking the "like" button on Adam's Facebook page as well as attending a barbeque fundraiser. In response, Roberts called a department meeting, advising the staff to get on the "long train" with him rather than give their support to someone else, and then after winning re-election, Roberts canned several employees, including those who supported Adams.
The workers believed that their Facebook "Like" was the reason behind why they got axed, and sued Roberts for violating their First Amendment Rights under the not-so-unreasonable belief that a Facebook "Like" is protected by free speech and they were unlawfully terminated. Unfortunately, U.S. District Judge Raymond Jackson disagreed, and stated that while Facebook Posts could be considered protected speech, the simple act of "liking" a page isn't enough to count since you don't actually make any written statements when you do so.
"Simply liking a Facebook page is insufficient," Judge Jackson said in his ruling. "It is not the kind of substantive statement that has previously warranted constitutional protection."

So now we know. Being publicly disloyal to your boss by a "Like" may harm your career.
However, being publicly disloyal to your boss in a written statement is protected under the First Amendment. So you won't get fired.
Now all we need is a volunteer with limited intelligence to see if this actually works in real life!

Hm-mm; no. Not all such speech is so protected.
Our First Amendment only proscribes the actions of governmental agencies with respect to speech that is of public interest. It protects neither private speech in any setting, nor any speech within a private setting.
As for FB, a reading of the Judge's MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER for Summary Judgement shows that the matter re. Facebook was immaterial to the decision.

I think I know where I went wrong. Tuna does not have a strong taste. Nor does stewed mango. Nor do boiled cashews. And I only used mild curry powder sparingly, because I did not want to overpower the other tastes. In fact I finished up with a very bland stew, that had no real taste at all.
So I have added some hot pepper sauce. And some more salt. And some garam masala spices. It has become too thick after all that simmering. So I have added blueberry juice as a liquid. Perhaps that will restore it as a fruity curry. Coconut milk might have been better, but I don't have any.
Leave it to simmer a while longer, and I'll test it again.
I have sternly disciplined myself not to eat anything else, until I have eaten that curry. It will be my first food in over 24 hours. It will probably taste delicious to a starving man.

lol it could. Blueberry Juice? added to the mango it sounds tropical lol.
I wonder if c0ldf1re ever ate the curry.

An excellent choice.
Would you like to take that with you; or, have it delivered?
