The shining is old but good one with Jack Nicholson. Hellraiser would be another one not listed.

I'd recommend the original Shutter (Thailand version), Cabin in the Woods, Rec 1 and 2, The Conjuring, The Ring, Sinister, The Innkeepers, Grave Encounters, and Insidious. I really love watching various horror movies, I've seen more bad ones than good though, which can also be enjoyable to laugh at.

The Shutter and SAW are my suggestions! There's also Paranormal Activity.

Videodrome - It is a very unusual movie by Canadian writer/director David Cronenberg. The movie starts off normally, but becomes stranger as it progresses. It has elements of gore-horror and psychological horror. It is easily categorised as a mind f*** movie.

Galaxy of Terror - A science fiction horror movie from the 1980s, set in the distant future. My favourite thing about this movie is its unexpected ending.

Horror Express - A Hammer Horror movie starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. It is set in the early 20th century, mostly on a train travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is about a British archaeologist who inadvertently brings aboard a hostile entity.
