You can't go wrong with Las Vegas. If you're single and 21+, this is the place to be.

I enjoyed London except for the price of beer.

How big is you travel budget?

I was in the pricey part of town. I never saw a pint for £3. Did not find it that cheap until I got to Ireland and off the beaten path.

Take lots of money. It is what keeps the place green. I haven't been there since 84 and I'm sure it has not gotten any cheaper.

Las Vegas is my choice of vacation. There is so much to do there. And, if lucks is on your side, you may just come home with a hefty bag of $$$

How big is your travel budget

- Whatever is in my bank account!, if the holiday is going well, we can just spend everything.

London is great to live in... but your right, you don't get much for you £!

My wife used her Hilton points to get us two free nights at the Trafalgar Hilton. Trust me when I say there is no way I would pay those rates in cash. I suspect part of the problem is that we were in the expensive part of town.

If you are seriously thinking about a trip to the states, my opinion after getting out of London was that most things at a given quality level cost about the same in pounds as they do here in dollars. The exchange rate would work in your favor where is worked against us.

Vegas isn't as cheap as it once was. The days of giving away food and rooms just to get you to gamble is long since past but you have a very wide range of places at many different price points to choose from.

In regards to your question, I personally had an excellent vacation trip about 2 years ago when I went to Isla Mujeres in the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.
Isla Mujeres is a small Island that is more or less private and not a touristic as Cancun and Acapulco. It's very quite and also very pretty with crystal clear blue/green water. My family and I stayed at the Villa Rolandi Hotel and we really enjoyed ourselves. There are dolphin and whale watching excursions but if you are not the type to do those type of things than you just enjoy the private beach and relax, read, rest up and have a pina colada.

PS... if you ever here again with your wife, Id recommend the serviced apartments london has to offer rather than a hotel!. You can cook your own food, and everything aswell as getting fresh linen and a clean room.
It's less expensive than the Trafalger Hilton...

Anything not at heart of the town has to be cheaper than the Trafalgar Hilton.

As for you coming to the states there is so much you could see. Vegas isn't America, it is the adult Disney land. What are your interests?

I went to India 2 winters ago (Goa). Excellent value for money, lovely beaches and most importantly lots of curry! Seriously though, the best food I have ever tasted in my life was eaten on that holiday, and it rarely cost more than £10 for a meal!
