Tell me something new you learned this week

Tell me something new you learned this week. It does not have to be web related. It can be anything new that you learned. One exception: I do not want SEO related stuff mentioned in this thread.

I will go first.

After running out of this really good sauce from Harry and Davids which they no longer make, I learned that the Poblano chili pepper is what it is called when green and when ripe and dried it is called Ancho chili pepper.

I'm not real sure what a dead ripe red one is called but on my third attempt I got the jelly / jam sauce close enough to suit me.

Surely you learned something new this week. Don't worry about looking silly just share it.

In regards to the opening thread, this week so far I have learned that while driving on the highway, no matter how fast you are going it's never ever going to be fast enough. There is always going to be someone who isn't satisfied with the velocity at which I am driving and therefore they continue to tailgate. I can be driving 72 mph on a highway that has a speed limit of 65 and yet someones is behind my grill.

LOL!

You should try pulling a trailer load of gravel at the legal 55 mph in a 70. I just laugh and think they are in for a real surprise if the rear end me, it will be like hitting a brick wall.

In regards to the opening thread, this week so far I have learned that lentils are one of the most cheapest foods per ounce. At walmart the average price for lentils is about 7 cents per ounce. Interestingly enough it's also of the healthiest foods out there.

Interesting. I don't believe I have ever had them. May I ask how you cooked them?

My wife cooked them with sufrito (a sauce used as a base in Spanish culture) and tomato sauce, tomato paste and chicken broth. She also added shredded plantain with the usual salt/pepper/garlic combo and then lastly some cumin and cilantro. Let it stew for about 40 minutes and then serve with rice.
