Hi Cimm! It has been a lot of years since I tended bar, but I remember having a blast doing it.

You can take classes for the basics, but the best place to learn it, is behind the bar. Do you have any small local places that might be willing to train someone?

Back to the point, in the UK bartending isn't so much a profession that a pretty crap job. The is no tipping culture here so nobody makes any money doing it.

In the States however, a bartender really makes an effort to make sure you enjoy your evening (at least the bars I went to in NYC!) and there really is an art to that!

Shame there isn't anything like that over here.
