I said this before in here but I'll say it again.
I've been the Team Lead of the IT repair department with a large company for awhile. Team lead for our company means I am in the management group and run the day to day operations including emailing VP's and Client representatives of large companies about certain stuff I can't mention in public. I can change/add department polices, customers build instructions among other stuff. I have the power!!!! (I just said that in a different voice)
I've been working at this company since I was 19 years old and I just turned 36 last week. Been the boss for about 4ish years now. Still I have been blogging for many many years starting blogs, selling them and starting them and... lol
I love what I do for a living because we make sure those large companies we have contracts with are satisfied with there IT equipment and our company has a very good reputation around the world in our field.
I don't work on tech work anymore but I used to repair... servers, desktops, laptops, printers, cash registers (there whole setup you see in check out lines) and mobile devices. There was more I could of learned but I did enough crap as a tech. lol
FYI, we work on all models of everything. I am a geek during the day but a crazy man after work hours. If I post in the tech section, I'm very anal about getting as much information as possible right down to the exact model number before I come up with possible solution's. This what we do at our job, we gather as much data as we can so we make the right decision the first time and get the item shipped out fast. We have to be perfect the first time at work when working on something because it's our reputation on the line on each device we touch. We talking millions of dollars for just 1 account which is multiple year contact and if we make a few mistakes in one year, we could of voided the contract and loose millions of dollars and have a tarnish reputation we would have to fix.
This is why we train our guys inhouse (I train the new guys as in showing them how to diagnose a problem and how to take the device apart to use temp part swap to determine if I diagnosed the problem correctly) and we pay for them to get all the certifications because without them, we won't allow them to order parts. lol
Dude, the Apple IOS certs are the hardest.
They train for 2 weeks because every device we get in, it's really never the same problem all the time so it's a lot of troubleshooting and learning this in books is a joke and won't help you in real life. You need to figure this out on the fly but have an expert feeding you tricks of the trade.
O look a pink squirrel......

If money was of no matter and the job was purely for enjoyment, professional Handball player. But, since money matters, I would want my job to be owning a business because otherwise you are trading your hours of living for dollars unless you enjoy your life and are comfortable.

My ideal job is being a farmer! I do not like computers that much, and I'm only doing what I'm doing because it's a steady income job and I'm doing it for my kids. And it's a good way to earn money that will help me pursue my dreams.
I dream to one day have my own goat farm, an orchard and an apiary, and just live a simple farm life.

As far as working for someone else goes, I probably have about as good a job as possible now (with the exception of fewer hours and making more money). I am a salesman and I test tires.

My ideal job would be no job. I'd love to be a billionaire. That won't ever be possible, but I'll settle for millionaire instead. I think that's possible.

In regards to the opening thread, if I had a choice for an ideal job it probably would be working as an administrative assistant in the front office of an NFL team. I love the sport and would like to have some kind of job that would put me in the atmosphere of the day to day operations of the front office of any NFL team.
