Humans tend to be crap online
You guys ever realize that? That people online tend to be crap? By "crap" I mean lying, dishonest back-stabbing fuctards.
I guess it could be the fact that I always assume the best of people and tend to give folks the benegit of the doubt, but damn do people disappoint me online.
I was thinking about this and I think that it is because a lot of people think of the Internet as "less than real" and so they think that it's ok to shit all over it.
Or maybe they are back-stabbing little fuctards offline as well.
But then I think about people like Ferre, G10, Laura, Cricket, etc and my faith in mankind is somewhat restored.
Anyway...

yes. And scammers. They think they are big because they are sitting behind a desk.
It's best not to trust someone ever.

I believe it is a little of both things you mentioned. "And, perhaps because people sometimes forget that there's a human being on the other side of the computer, some people think that a lower standard of ethics or personal behavior is acceptable in cyberspace.Core Rules of Netiquette ---------------------- Guy proposes a useful test for anything you're about to post or mail: Ask yourself, "Would I say this to the person's face?" If the answer is no, rewrite and reread. Repeat the process till you feel sure that you'd feel as comfortable saying these words to the live person as you do sending them through cyberspace. I like to take somewhat of a cautiously optimistic approach. As with most things, I tend to hope for the best but expect the worst. It keeps me believing in people but not being too disappointed if they let me down.
In business, trust but verify.
