Not hungover today.

There was a time, long ago, I could never have said that.

I searched "hangover", and found this in the search sidebar...

Quote:
Unpleasant symptoms that occur after excessive alcohol intake.

Very common
  • More than 3 million US cases per year
  • Usually self-treatable
  • Usually self-diagnosable
  • Lab tests or imaging not required
Short-term:
  • resolves within days to weeks
  • It usually takes a few hours for hangover symptoms to develop.
  • Symptoms include fatigue, thirst, headache, nausea, light and sound sensitivity, and dizziness.

Pain relievers can help with symptoms. A severe hangover may indicate alcohol poisoning and needs emergency treatment.

Ages affected
  • 0-2 - Never
  • 3-5 - Never
  • 6-13 - Very rare
  • 14-18 - Very common
  • 19-40 - Very common
  • 41-60 - Very common
  • 60+ - Very common

I have on rare occasions woken up still a little bit drunk ( I usually sleep 4-5 hours ) but I have never gone to the bother of having a hangover.

We had a surprise number of non-drinkers reply.

I won't speak for you but I am pretty sure food hangover should apply.

Although I am an avid drinker and love my nightly wine and a good glass of Scotch, I don't overdo it whether it's just a typical weekend or even a weekend falls on a Holiday. It just makes it more enjoyable for me to be moderate in my drinking habits on a health level but also too it serves my wallet better as well.

So in other words, no hangover for me.

If it does then count me in.

We tend not to have crisps (chips) in our household but at xmas we had enough to feed the whole neighbourhood; along with chocolates, nuts etc. So my salt intake has probably been high enough to have similar effects to that of an hangover.

Nothing can 'prevent' a hangover. The same as nothing can prevent dehydration after imbibing a diuretic.
