Also going to a hot place in summer can be quite bad. It's like going to Scotland in Winter!

I've known people that have gone to the Bahamas (or similar tropical place) in the summer, mostly because that was the only time they could get away. The pictures they sent us were amazing, and the tropical and pampering atmosphere is the same in the summer. And, there is obviously more room on the beach, as well as much easier to get reservations at various venues.

I suppose hot places can be alluring to people from cold climates, but you wouldn't want to spend too much time there in summers. I remember spending a summer in Singapore a decade ago. Now that place is almost on the equator so the burning heat was intolerable despite there being air conditioning everywhere & me being used to similar unpleasant climate here in Mumbai.

Tucson in February is great for us Canucks. Warm enough for golf, walking, outdoor dining during the day too! Generally, you would wear a light jacket on the cooler days, and on the warm days shorts and t-shirt are definitely doable.

Why Tuscon? Well, at least the early part of the year is pretty much guaranteed sun, just about every day. Well, there's that and the fact we have family down there in the winter and accommodations are free.

I lived in Greece, Corfu to be precise, in '97 and '98 and from June till September it was 90+ the first year I was there, and the second year they had a heatwave so 100 for most of july and August. I got through 5 or 6 t shirts a day from the sweat.

I just booked 2 weeks in Kefalonia today, from Aug 29th - Sept 12th. Cant wait to sit in the Med playing with my kids on boats etc! We love it. Happy days ahead!

I'm off to the Nilgiri mountains in southern India in a couple of weeks. Gonna meet the full fury of the southwest monsoons. Stormy days ahead!
