Not quite this year. Busy with fixing up the place. No where to hide purchases.

Went to mall to pickup A&W at the food fair at 4:30-5:00 couple nights ago. Parking lot a disaster! It would have been faster to go to a free standing store 10 blocks away.

My butt is whopped. The water heater install, as easy as they ever do, whupped me.

Trying out a new Jambalaya recipe for dinner. Never been my favorite but DW and son love it.

I have one of the larger hot water tanks installed about two years ago. The guy that delivered and installed it, did so himself. Although things went without a hitch, he really worked hard to get it from the truck, to the basement for sure. The hooking up and testing part was pretty easy.

The one is my basement is 50 gallons and a real pain to move about.

I had my son help me the new one for this house into the house. With just 2 steps I had no problem getting the old one out but it still wears you out when you don't do physical labor every day.

I wonder if anyone here has tried the "tank-less" systems. I've heard mixed results.

There isn't much room between my cars in the garage, so on garbage day, the bins have to sometimes be lifted "over head" to get them out to the curb. Occasionally, that's all that would be needed to cause a little tweak in the lower back which sticks around for days. Ugh.

The gas ones are reputed to work fairly well. The electric not so much and very expensive to operate. I could not see a proper ROI for our needs. During the summer months we barely cover the gas usage minimum.

Move the car! There is no way I would even try to do that, not even with a helper.

My son came over and cooked dinner so I tried and to my surprise liked an Indian style Coconut Curry Chicken combo-something dish with some fancy rice. He brought his new toy, a rice cooker which made good rice. Not sure it would be worth the shelf space but it sure was easy to cook rice.

About the only way I would do that is if I replaced the larger slow cooker with one of those Insta-pots that does it all. I'm just not sure I want another computer chip in my life right now.

Sure has been a slow rainy Sunday. Did all of you take the day off?

Getting the place ready for relatives that just arrived from out west for 10 days. Making plans for a couple of weeks in AZ (lots of golf) and a summer vaca out west.

Darn that warm sounds like a good plan. The golf you can keep.

One never knows what you'll get in AZ in January. It can be warm (high 70's - sometimes low 80's), or it can be cool (low/mid 60's).

Either way, there will be lots of sun, and for sure, it'll be a lot warmer that it will be here.

So far we've got 5 rounds of golf booked, and maybe 6th.

The bosses are playing two rounds, us minions are playing 5 or 6. Apparently the call of the Malls in the area are stronger than playing golf. She finds golf a little frustrating. I don't get it.

If I can wiggle another week in there somehow, we might drive to Vegas for a few days. We'll see.

That is a nice phrase that captures the spirit of the moment.

Enjoy the family and friends and have a great time.

Nope, we just eat it.

Kidding! For the kids (who are really adults now), yep they still get the candy canes, and although not "hard candy", jelly beans and jujubes. Orange ones are my favorite in case anyone is was thinking of a secret Santa gift.

Everything except a couple items from Indigo. Three weeks ago, when I bought 4 books online, they suggested using their courier service to get the books delivered to a local retail store, and then they can be picked up at the specified location. That way, I'd be sure I'd have the order of books before Xmas. Ya, right.

I've only got one book so far, and am still waiting on 3 others. There's still a few days left, but I have my doubts.

This suggestion by Indigo was supposed to circumvent the postal strike issue.

Epic fail with such bad advice.

They think by giving me a $10 gift card/credit, it is going to make it all right. Ha. Wait'll I get thru with them.
