The changes from warm weather to cold, and then cold to warm, are fraught with tugs of war. It's like a roller coaster. One doesn't want to give up to the other.

When you think about it, Dec 21 is supposed to be the day with the least amount of light. But, even with that in mind, it takes the winter weather patterns a bit longer to really set in and when January's frigged temps roll in, it then becomes a deep-freeze.

I know there are exceptions to the rule. I think December 2017 was the coldest December I can remember.

That said, winter can only hang on for another week - 2 at the most, then it has no choice but to get the f--k outa here!

I here ya. If June 21 is the longest day of the year it should be the warmest but it is not. The heat of summer comes after the longest day.

So from that I infer that there is a seasonal carry over effect.

I'm just saying don't store your long johns quite yet.

I pretty sure last night taught the daffodils just how daffy they are.

For us, it's the little crocus flowers that are usually the first to appear. And, they haven't yet. They must be a tad smarter than the daffy-dils.

Your ground is probably colder which is slowing them down. We truly have weird weather patterns here and the ground rarely freezes.

Market was up this AM but I haven't checked lately.

I am officially past ready for spring!

First winter in the last 3 where I've not had a project going and I am officially bored.

Know anything about drill bit sharpeners?

Me too. I have found the last few years I've become more and more impatient waiting for the nicer weather. Must be an "age thing". If there was only a way I could move to Florida or AZ for 8 months of the year, but keep my CDN residency status.

That's me. After looking at a few models, the amount one would need to spend to get a decent one, doen't look like the payback is there for a 68 years fellar.

It does seem like a waste to just trash them when they get dull.

I've never bought high-end bits, for good reason, as I'm more apt to lose them before getting any where near wearing them out. I just go buy more.

I do seem to go thru a lot of the smaller ones - breaking them, that is.

For me market down for the day. Better luck tomorrow.

Had to use the truck AC when I went to the grocery this afternoon. Not sure it was working 100%.

Of both indices I watch, one was neutral (+0.05 points change) and the other is +35 points. That should mean an ever so small increase, but I won't know until the update things later in the evening.

AC already? My brother in law runs the AC in his van all the time in AZ rather than rolling down the windows for fresh air. This, when the temp was in the mid 60's.

I often do the same. The wind noise isn't nice for my ears.

Here, all 4 major indexes are showing ++ for the open, the sun is shining, almost time for breakfast.

Yep - markets off to a nice start. I hope the traders have lots of coffee and don't fall asleep after lunch.

Car is in for tire swap, oil and some ABS actuator recall. It's in for the day.

I glad you finally humored that dealer. You sure gave them a hard time about this.

A lot of my stuff is defensive so early morning not much bang for my bucks.

We shall see what the afternoon brings.

Sounds like not too bad of day at the dealership.

The sin stocks took a hit today so not a good day for us.
