I can't stand the wind noise when the windows are down at more residential speeds.

BTW, after 6 years you made the right call on new vrs. battery.

Today is final review of the taxes, file them and get it off my list. I'll do just about anything not to go out there and mess with that carb.

Fed e-filed and accepted. Will print and mail state on Monday. I'm not willing to pay $20 to e-file the state.

Then it is fix the rider time.

I still have to see my accountant who does my business return and family returns for next to nothing.

I won $20 on a loto max draw. Now I'm only about $150 in the hole over the last 52 weeks.

The extra money above what is won and unclaimed goes to charities our lottery corporation supports, so it's a bit of fun, and it's not completely wasted.

I can, and at the same time, can't believe how much winning money goes unclaimed every year. It seems millions of $$ ends up going back in the system because someone lost their winning ticket and didn't claim the winnings on time.

Heck even I play the lotto when the payoff per $ bet is equal to the odds. In the case of powerball that requires a fairly large pot.

Not a pretty day here today. Made a bit uglier by the fact I had to write the quarterly tax payments and I still have to mail the state return.

Looks like a flat to lightly down open for our markets.

Our markets are rebounding, but are still slightly in the red.

Your pot stocks are taking a real hit today. A few more days like this and they might be worth taking a look at.

I don't follow the weed stocks - or any individual ones. I just hope the index itself does well. One was down a tiny bit, and the other was up 30 points. The resulting numbers were surprisingly a good return for one day.

Yep, a positive start to the day. It's going to be a while, but I may actually have some money left over when I turn 90.

I do everything I can to ensure our backyard plantings mature and stay healthy. The forest rabbits have other plans. I think they used the bottom portion of my pyramid cedars as munchy food over the winter.

The darned critters are cute but they can be quite destructive; almost as bad the tree rats.

USB-C . That is what the thing is called. I hate laptops because they always use some weird a**ed part somewhere. Anywho problem solved no later than Saturday, all the way from the Peoples Republic of California.

Well, they say that rabbits and squirrels (and rest of the rodent family) are not related, but
I think that's fake news.

Methinks we have some serious program trading going on today. All the indies are up but some big stocks are getting hammered for no apparent reason that I can find.

Don't even get me started about fake news. Those people should have their keyboards confiscated.

Well, we were doing fine earlier in the day. One of the indices that was slightly read recovered to neutral, and the other that was a bit positive ended up a bit in the red. The numbers once released later on will tell - but it looks like a "nothing" day.

Not me. I got hammered. But it may all return today. Everything that went poof was a paper gain in the last 30 days so perhaps just a correction.

The official start of spring happened yesterday. I traded my sweat pants for gym shorts. As soon as it warms a bit I intend to play outside. Need to get a bit of yard work done before the rain returns.

The weather had just decided to teas us with a day or two of "warm-ish" temps followed by 3 days of pretty much straight rain. I don't see my yard work starting till next week sometime.

You probably have that about right. We had the same pattern last week and the week before.

I know, right? It's a rollercoaster - up and down temps - a day or two that's dry then 2 or three of rain. I have this weather app on my PC (The Weather Network) that has a radar cloud cover view of North America. At any time in the last week most of NA is covered by some form of cloud cover.

You guys west of the Mississippi don't know nothing about clouds or haze. When we have one of those beautiful blue sky days we get excited. You take them for granted. Gray is the normal sky color even on a sunny day.

Back to an old topic. This UPS business is a PITA. Almost impossible to pin down usage and numbers. After reading a few informative articles I decided to buy a power meter to put together some accurate information. I want to buy plenty but don't want to overbuy. The larger CyberPower units have 2 batteries and that is twice the maintenance cost. But their brand looks like the best bang for the $.

With the meter I can determine the actual draw and can then decide whether one unit or two is the best way to go for computer and voice modem. I just can't believe that little modem uses that much power. I do want to keep it going and not rely on cell phones during a power outage.
