We've had a good streak of weather since I've got back and the long weekend is looking good too!

I'm starting to assemble a list of things outside I want to get done over the next couple of weeks now that the heat has dissipated.

Howz your lighting going? BY lighting can have a dramatic effect on a yard. I might get into planning something out next year.

How far down the tube to where it connects to the main?

I realize you may have to guess if you did not install the system.

I think it goes down from the outlet on the second floor, and may go straight down into the garage with maybe a twist or turn here or there.

You are right, I'm guessing. If I can find the pictures I took while the house was being built, I might know more - but when I took them, they were just general pictures taken during the inside build, in case I had to get inside a wall in the future and would have a general idea what was behind it.

Is there only one intake on the second floor? I'm trying to get a feel for where the blockage is.

I'm pretty sure you don't have exposed pipes on your ceiling so I am assuming it runs between the joists and behind the drywall.

I just watched 2 tube videos on the subject and when trying to clear a blockage they used 2 different methods. The one not included in the video below sounds safer for your situation. Open the unit can or the downstairs port before you use your shop vac to try and clear the clog. This one was from a pro.

The second one you can watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWnIB99_Pog

I will check it out - thanks!

UPDATE: I saw the video and will definitely try it. I didn't anticipate the thought of going "back and forth" between the system vacuum and the shop vac, or in my case, and older stand-up vac with good sucking power.

Ducts cleaned yesterday including dryer venting. Some people should not be homeowners... especially with a pet. Disgustingly dirty. Luckily everything good for another year!

Yard lighting on the weekend. It's a long weekend here.

When you own a home it is a lot like being a farmer; there is always something that could be fixing. Welcome to the misery.

I've learned at the very early stages of parenthood: Hope for the best, but expect the worst.

Getting a complete overhaul of the security system - more sensors, internet enabled control, sky bell video, glass break sensors etc.

Then, surround video surveillance from a local company. The things we have to do to send the burglars to some other non-secure house.

Wife has plans to make it not a good one. She can write goals much faster than I can complete them.

Get ready for a wild ride in the markets today.

Gonna try to do a little digging before it gets really hot.

Wild ride is an understatement.

With rain possible most of today, I'll probably do some work.

That long drop on the roller coaster. I did not have the heart to log in and see the damage until the markets closed. Sufficient to say it was really ugly.

On a brighter note I whipped that tree root in the path of burying that gutter drain. It was a split decision, not a KO but I won. My hand no longer fits an axe handle very well and I'm sure the sight of an old man sitting on a milk crate swinging an axe at the ground amused that hot blonde walking by who caused me to miss a couple of swings.

Yesterday wound up being a waste. Thought I did the digging and beat the root in one day it took me a whole day to work the kinks out of my system.

Today I may accomplish a few honey do tasks but not until I have coffee.

I broke down and on a whim bought a lightly used Breville Espresso/Cappuccino machine. Love the deep filter cups for a strong blend. Have still got to play with the "frother". Haven't got that down right - yet!

Some markets were up, but marginally, and our local TSX up pretty substantially.

Stormy day tomorrow. I may have to actually work.

Things are dry finally dry here. Summer leaf drop is upon us. We've had a few storms hard, fast and all run off. We are getting some cooler air from the north so we are probably sending the humid stuff your way.

I never developed a taste for Espresso/Cappuccino but I hope you enjoy yours. If the markets really go south maybe you can get a job at StarBucks when you retire.
