For me, I always set the alarm earlier than my actual wake up time. And then I would turn that off multiple times before actually getting up off bed. hahaha! It's easier to get up when it's almost time. Lol. When the pressure is on, it's easier to get up off the bed.

Try buying a power plug that lets you set a timer on it (pretty inexpensive on Amazon) and connect a table lamp (white light, not warm lights) to it. The light turning on during your wake up time will wash away any drowsiness you have. All the best!

And one more trick that i heard from old ages that "IF you ask your pillow to wake you up after a certain hours then it will, actually its a psychology type thing. Our brain has immense power and it responds even when we are sleeping, SO its not the Pillow that wakes you up but the Brain. Try it !! you will surely reply me with a big Thank You
Every person has his own cycles in the body and drinking a lot of water before going to bed can result waking up in the middle of the night and make the sleeping worse

How would one do this, other than leaving a window open (which isn't an option in the winter)?

In regards to your question, one "tactic" that I use in order to wake up easier is related to the alarm sound. What has helped me is using an alarm sound that is light and gentle and slowly, gradually gets louder and louder. As for me, it helps the process of waking up and also to keeps the wife from getting too irritated since I usually wake up before her.

Try organic Chinese Gunpowder Green Tea (brand Sonnentor). It's powerful (not necessarily better than a good Espresso).

1) get to bed earlier.

and/or

2) get a cat. My cat (used to have two), demand to get out around 4 or 5am.....thus I have to get up, otherwise I get a thump from an angry paw.

more oxygen in the bedroom may definitely aid purer sleep.

it also may aid self-combustion, if he wakes up for a cigarette.

PS - a little off the main topic - but for extremely vivid dreams during sleep - a tablet which was buyable over the counter in your chemist to aid sleep, called melatonin!

though the dreams, over the forthcoming nights, get scarier. Just my experience.

Typically, having a routine schedule helps since your body clock adjusts to the hours and would begin to automatically wake up on its own. If you're still unable to, perhaps having not having the snooze function turned on might help you sub-consciously wake up in the morning, because I find that function to be one of the main causes for people oversleeping. When you have that assurance that your alarm would ring in a couple of minutes, it encourages you to sleep in and not wake up to the first alarm.

Make a habit of getting out of bet at the same time each day. It's hard at first, but just do it.. Don't lay in bed and think about all of your responsibilities, because it can become overwhelming. Get out of bed, get a cup of coffee brewing and take a shower. By the time your out of the shower you will be refreshed and ready to seize the day! At least, that works for me

You might want to look to your diet as well, I use to eat 3-4 years ago junk food a lot, too much carbs, sandwiches, french fries and animal products but in the end I changed my diet. Right now I'm almost 100% vegetarian and I can tell you I'm feel like my body was replaced with a new one, I have no pains, no migraines no low energy levels, nothing... oh yeah and bread, you might want to google what gluten does to our body or wheat products. If you eat these products which I just said I can see why you have low energy levels in the morning so the best advice I think is fruits and vegetables and less meat.

Iron deficiency is a big thing alot of people are not getting enough iron which results in their red blood cell count being low which means they will feel fatigued and tired all day and when they wake up. It takes 20mg of iron a day for grown man, thats 6-7 hamburgers or 3lbs of spinach or 2lbs of steak. On avg people only get about 10mg of iron a day. This is something we should All look into.

Try not sleeping for a day, and then go to sleep at another day at night and you might wake up easier.
