Music format converter suggestions????

My brother-in-law is a gadget guy. Note, I did not say gadget geek! He loves buying them but has no clue how to use them.

Among their family they now have gadgets that use just about every file format for music files known to man ( and woman ).

So the real question is, does anyone have any suggestions for an good program to convert back and forth from whatever format iTunes and iPods use, wma, mp3, etc. And it needs to be really easy to use. He loves the gadgets...just not so great and learning to use them.

Any suggestions? Free is good but he's a shopper so he doesn't have a problem paying for the right piece of software (right = one easy enough that I don't have to do it all for him )

"Advanced WMA Workshop" this software will convert WAV, MP3 and OGG files to WMA.Also some versions of "Advanced WMA Worhshop" can convert from WMA to MP3,but I'm not sure about this..I haven't used them
I have 0.9 version and It can convert MP3 to WMA.

Anyone else?? I figured with this group the challenge would be wading through the suggestions?
