Mistakes *do* sometimes happen. As someone pointed out, the sheer number of users your company has using the same IP address and promoting the same things put that IP block into suspect (some of those users bordering on their posts being nothing more than spam/trash). I haven't looked *too* much into it, but I'm guessing that one (or more) of the users at your company had their accounts rightfully terminated for spamming, then at the same time, a proactive sweep was done to try to eliminate anything else that could be eliminated at the same time, with your account being accidentally caught up in that. So yes... sometimes users are caught up in internal sweeps of "bad guys" based on the company they keep.

Whoever thinks simply having a duplicate IP address at Digital Point will get them banned, is mistaken (if that were the case, the system could just auto-ban people). There's more to it than that.

I'm not defending nor condoning but if you had to run a forum that big you would be very intolerant as well. I can only imagine how fast it "could" get out of control.
This is an unfortunate fact... I think we do a pretty good job at controlling the spam (which is crazy if you could see what we see). We do have a tough attitude on spamming (and other things)... if a user does something that is blatantly wrong (spamming for example), they aren't going to get a warning or 2nd chance or anything else.

"Hey, can you please not spam your ****** ads in my forum? Thanks..."

"Oh sure, no problem... I didn't know it wasn't allowed, sorry about that."

Right. {rolls eyes}

...but at the same time if do make a mistake, it will be corrected.

And that's why when some one does complain about some one being banned, or uses the
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/sendmessage.php
form like he did I think a few times, a mod should look in to it again. I'm guessing most SPAMMers don't try to get another member to get them unbanned, or even use the contact form. And if they keep buging members to get them unbanned and they really did break the rules, then they should probably get exposed, like what Cheap SEO Services got!!!!
