You'll need to work it out with the registrar, if they are allowed. The "protected" status of whois info is a premium offered by many registrars, but it is not a standard. The only requirement made by ICANN is that the whois info be accurate and on file. It does not require that the info be made public. Typically, that agreement which the client pays for guarantees that nobody except for the government (with a search warrant) can access that info, precisely to keep it out of the hands of people who are casually looking for it, or who want to use that info for some reason. You may be able to convince the registrar to pass your request on to the domain administrator in order for them to permit its release to you.
