The web will change in some way and someday it will peak. Few things grow infinitely and forever. Some unforseen invasive technology will come along and replace it or change it beyond recognition. For one, TV and the web will continue to merge, and I suspect we'll see more and more programs and interactive mass media based projects seeping into it. Likely it will become one with the television set hanging on everyone's living room walls. The current web has a lot of parallels to early television broadcasting. If the analogy holds, someone or group will want to control it, limit access, make it too expensive for the average citizen, and dominate it. That same divergence happened to both newspapers and television, so why not the web? As it grows it will become the main mass media (is it already?), and we know what that means...
