LOL. that's WF spirit right there. We take our webmaster work seriously, but we like to play hard and joke around a lot. Even to the point of being rude/childish. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Nothing wrong with that. We are just bringing a different approach to internet marketing.

A different approach? making an ass of yourself isn't 'different' dude, it's as old as the streets. Bashing others to draw attention to yourself also isn't new, or 'different'.

Wow - I'm amazed by this thread. I, for one, will NEVER visit your forums BECAUSE of your "revolutionary" marketing methods. I'm all for joking (ask around) but I do not find humor in the word "fag" or other intolerant jibberish pointed as an insult to another group of people.

Building yourself up by tearing another down is a "no-no" in my book, and I doubt I'm alone. Your sudden rise in numbers will be short-lived I'm sure.

You might be right, kristeejo, there might be a threshold of people in the webmaster community that like the WickedFire environment. Like every forum our number of new sign ups will eventually slow down. But we are certainly not going to fade away anytime soon.

Ferre, our tricks may be old, but they are apparently working as we are moving up in sign ups, posts, threads, backlinks, and SERP positions. The old tricks work just fine.

Actually most of our active members are very liberal on social and privacy issues, but conservative on economic. And most of us aren't religious as far as I can tell. we are normal people, just extremely laid back.

We have gotten plenty of respect from the webmaster community. I was at Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas and I didn't hear one person tell us they didn't like our forum or how we do things. People that walked up to our booth were there to give praise or pick up a t-shirt. All types of people from the internet marketing world contribute on our forum. Ad Network CEOs, Affiliate Managers, SEO and Affiliate Gurus, or just normal people who do internet marketing as a hobby. Not everyone likes us obviously but we without doubt have more of a following than you are giving credit.

I'm guessing it wasn't a "liberal"—who thought insulting a forum by referring to it as gay—was the one that designed the t-shirt in question.

I've found people who use that kind of terminology are not very socially liberal at all or are daft... you choose.

Of course you'll defend your techniques all day long because you can't step up and say, "You know what, we maybe shouldn't put down 10%+ of the population to get a laugh."
