I can understand that not everyone wants to be associated with us. That is perfectly fine, we want the people who do want to be associated with us. And as I look at our forum, I see there are plenty of people who do.

I didn't design the shirt, but I've read studies like the one you posted. Interesting stuff. but here is a question: is true intolerance disagreeing with someone's beliefs or lifestyle? or infringing upon another person's rights, forcing them to submit to your will?

In my opinion, intolerance is the latter. Just because you don't like homosexuality, doesn't mean you cannot coexist with people that are. On WickedFire you have the right to say whatever you want, gay or not. We also have the right to say whatever we want, insulting or not.

Well being a bi-sexual, I definately will not be going to your forum, and I can probably guess that other people in my community will not either. You have excluded a large group of people. Your outlandish rejection of homosexuals has made it so they cannot coexist with you. Do you think I want to go to a place where I will be insulted? Cause I am not insulted here for my sexuality, my atheism, my pro-choices, or my crude sense of right and wrong. The people here are more open minded then people that would exclude and insult an entire group, like you. My bisexuality is tolerated AND accepted here, I wouldn't even try to see if it would be there.

Err, I'm not sure why you specifically pointed me out. if you posted on wickedfire i wouldn't have a problem with it at all. It's not rejection if you are welcome to post there. But I understand why you are offended, you find the sophomoric humor in the shirt to be a direct attack on homosexuals. When I'm sure the intention was to jab at v7n and the other forums. They jabbed by using a slur. If I said "Wikedfire acts like a bunch of spics" how to do you think Mexicans would feel about that. Would they go.. oh... they were making fun of THEM.. not us, being called a spic is insulting and degrades my race, but.. HAHAHAHA. I don't think so. How is being gay a jab? I don't think it is BAD thing being bi-sexual, gay, lesbian, or tansgenedered. But by calling someone or something a fag, not only are you insulting the person or thing, you are insulting us "fags." By literally saying to be gay is bad, and we will call other people gay because it is bad to be gay.

I never said it was an attack on homosexuals. Saying "I think all homosexuals are evil and should die" is an attack. No instead it is just a promotion and acceptance of using slurs against groups of people. It only adds to what we in the GLBT Centers have to try to combat and fight every single day. Slurs only say "it's ok to insult and be intolerant of certain groups of people." Slurs are never ok, joke or not.

I know.. but it is part of who I am. I was a member and volunteer for the GLBT Center in Denver, and it seems that it is hard for people to understand the crap we go through on a daily basis. Just a couple weeks ago my aunt found out I was bi, and proceeded to make puking and gagging noises and laughing on the phone to my mother. My whole family is not too happy about it. I don't like her behavior but I am used to it. She is entitled to her opinion, she doesn't have to like homosexuals... but she doesn't have to make fun of them either. We are used to it, but man are we tired of it.

If we figured out how many people on v7n make over 20k a month and the number of people on WF with that income WF would own you!
We are about making money, about learning how to make money - most don't care about all the fluff and like to argue every now and then. Hell the owner of WF says if you don't like it go f$%k your self - except he would spell it out! so thanks for the publicity and if you want to make some real money and use your seo skills to do so stop by the affiliate marketing forum and ask questions. There are some big earners there that will be more than willing to answer your legit questions.

But I do understand that it was just a marketing ploy. Maybe it was just in bad taste, which is of course not criminal, but the word "fag" associated with one other forum really is offensive.

As far as respect goes... I don't judge entire communities based on one T-shirt, but I do tend to be suspicious of the leadership if that is the approach they take. Also, I've browsed WF in the past and it did seem a bit too crude or childish for my liking.

The absolute pervasiveness of foul language and insults doesn't appeal to me. It just seems so... I don't know the right word. To say "immature" is an insult to immature people. To say "lacking in class" would be an insult to people who lack in class. It's vile.

But, with all sincerity I am a live-and-let-live person. If that's the way you want to lead your forum, that's fine by me. No skin off my back. Just as long as no dolphins were hurt, why should we be up in arms?

If I think someone is a moron.. guess what I am going to tell them I think they are a moron. I won't hide behind some racial, ethnic, creed, color, or sexual slur. If I think someone is an idiot, I will tell them so. But I won't insult a group of people just to insult them. A direct and valid insult works a lot better than that. It just shows that the reason for the insult is invalid because they use a slur, which a slur is always invalid. If you want an insult to shed light on someones weakness, why don't you actually point out a valid weakness. Instead of resorting to using invalid statements to make a valid point. That is just, well stupid and moronic.

i live in austin, were every gay person here calls the other gay person a fag! it is alot like black people calling each other the N word. I don't use the word but on WF being called those things is harmless fun. but some people just need to pull the rod out there ass!

I call my gay friends fairies and fags... I can because I am part of the gay community, and 2 I am not using it as an insult. We don't care being called queer or fag by others in our community, but we care if you say "your such a fag" and you mean it in a negative way. They didn't say fag in an affirming and complimentary way as when us fags say it. It was meant as an insult, and lo and behold... guess what.. we took it as an insult. Gee, imagine someone taking an insult as an insult.. oh the insanity!

Well see on WickedFire we are all friends. I am black, and I call them "my n*gga" all the time. They say the same back, but it's all in good fun. I think the difference between us is that we don't take anything too seriously besides our work in internet marketing, it's because we are a laid-back and tight knit community.
