Really. Well let me tell ya a little true story then. Someone in the girls locker room, when i was in high school, said "oh my god, that shirt she was wearing was so gay." I worked with people who have been beaten and taunted mostly by people who think its funny or ok to make fun of gays. Jokes have lead to ridicule, and jokes have lead to hatred. You have advertised you are ok with people insulting gays. Sometimes that is where it stops, but sometimes people find jokes as invitations to act on these insults and actually beat up or murder gays thinking other people will find it acceptable. If people could stop accepting and condoning these slurs or "jokes" it's possible we could save lives from it. I personally know two gay people who were murdered because they were gay, it started out with jokes and insults and ended in murder. You might think 1 joke couldn't harm anyone. But I have seen it happen over and over again. I am not going to bother to try and convince you guys anymore that slurs can and do cause harm.

There are plenty of people who do try to harm or hurt gays, and every joke about gays just adds fuel to the fire. Every acceptance of this behavior increases the probability that hate crimes against gays won't stop.

You are posting in defense of WF. You are seen as a representative of WF. You are demonstrating to everybody that you are an ass.

Now, since it is technically a competing forum, you are doing me a favor by being such an ass. You are ruining any possibility of WF coming off as a "fun" place. You are doing more harm to WF than I ever could, so really I should be thanking you.

Thanks for sharing Isla, sorry to hear about what happened to your friend. I think I understand your reasoning that words can go a very long way if said under the right circumstances. and in the case of the WF tshirt obviously it hit a chord with some people, and to be honest it was meant to. But the choice to take a joke into something further could be in the hand of anyone. If I wanted to I could take offense to whatever, but I choose not to because it's much less stressful to sit back and look at all the silly or hurtful things said . I believe as long as no one is infringing upon my rights, I could care less what someone "says".

You sound like a really good person, I'm actually really sorry this whole ordeal struck a chord with you. Thanks for the lengthy response.
