I want.
It's incredible, though I'm not sure how practical it would be. It's like a messy desk in the real world transferred to a messy desk in your computer.

Ditto Cheeks!
Now my computer desktop can be just as messy and disorganized as my real world desktop.

That is what I was thinking too. But see this would be good for me. I like chaos and things just piled up or spead out, it is easier for me. I think this desktop would be PERFECT for someone with severe ADD. It would totally work for them.

Cool idea, if I'm honest I don't really like it that much though.

I think the point is that you can have everything tidy in "Tidy Stacks" but have the docs you are working on scattererd around however you like. Its just easier and quicker to flip to a stack and pull out an additional document. The current Windows Desktop isn't very usable, its just another folder with some unique "always open" attributes. Imagine everything being filed away as normal, just with this application replacing the desktop - the active work area - I think it would be great!!

Actually, for me it's that I don't like any items on my desktop, period. Hell, I even hide my recycling bin icon. All my files I access through My Docs.

These guys (dgp) are UofT, Cheeks.
I checked out their website. They're University of Toronto folks.
Not much on the website about the desktop, though.

That's what I do too. Except I have a program that sits in my taskbar that will bring up a menu of what would be on the desktop.

Waste of time? I think that all depends on how the user wants to use the thing. For some people, this might be better because of the different way the files are handled.

I think so too waffles... it would be much easier for me if my workspace worked like that. It makes more sense to me.
