need help with macromedia flash 8

anyone who knows about this program...I need your help.

ok, so I have a new .fla file that has over 4000 shapes, sprites, sounds, ect.
and im trying to go through them really fast to find the ones I need to edit. so I open up library, and look around and I find that sprite 203 needs edited. i look around the library window and cant figure out how to open up or get to that sprite. so I click on the edit symbols drop down menu and try to select it that way. but it takes me over 2 min. just to get scrolled down to the sprites. IS THERE ANY EASYER WAY???

If the sprite exists on the stage, just double click on it.

If not, you have to dig around a bit.

But it's hard to judge without actually seeing what you're doing.
