Why Did You Join the V7N Community?

What made you decide to become a member of the V7N community?
Did you lurk for a while first? Or, just join right away?

I have been around since the old forums, so it has been quite some time. I know that I lurked for a few days, or maybe even weeks before actually joining. I can't remember exactly what it was, but there was something I wanted to see that it wouldn't let me unless I joined first -- perhaps it was the Private SEO Forum? Or, maybe I just couldn't stand not being able to respond to the topics and ask questions.

One thing I remember clearly though is that the people seemed so friendly that I just knew it was a community that I wanted to be a part of.

It seems I am always doing something that is not common or almost nobody does, or thought of, or hitting weird problems. I always do searches for answers but lots of them come up completely dry. On many of those, this forum showed up in the results a number of times and once in a while even had an answer where no one else did. After noticing that, I was here hunting another obsure answer and joined. I have been haunting members since

After reading more than just the threads that might have the answer I was looking for, I found this wacky group of people who have fun and share knowledge, experience, and even a little wisdom from time to time.

Now I'm addicted!

I don't remember exactly. I do know I was doing a lot of research and somehow came across this website. I knew I would join immediately after visiting as the place has a kind of "home" comfortable, community feel. Glad I did!

I lurked for a while and then joined as I knew nothing about website promotion and wanted to learn.

Now, almost 2.5 years later, I'm still no better off

Actually, it's a great place as there are definitely a lot of good folk here and a lot of the people here have become my virtual family

I joined 5 months before I made my first post. I never really lurked, I just sort of forgot about it. Then one day, I think in November, I got bored at my frequented forum, and didn't like many of the other forums that I went to occasionally, and I remembered this place. So I came back, and now it's my second home.....I found out quick that this is a forum that you can find inspiration, I love the feel of community here, and there are very few condescending attitudes, though, it's necessary once in a while....

wow it has been somewhere between 6-7 years since I have joined this place.

Back when john started it he was running adwords fairly heavily to build traffic(along with many other things). I was searching for something and clicked through adwords and found it. So I guess I owe john about $.45 or so.

Anyway, I just loved the community. It was young back then, only about 5 or so regulars. I use to be fairly active, was john's first mod actually. I just lost time for it i guess. I still look in from time to time though

I don't know how i got here, but what is worse is, i can't seem to leave. I have to stop by everyday to see what's going on, like it's one of your favorite bars that you must check out to see what's going on and say Hi.

how did getting into graphic design school go for you joecacia? Not sure how much print related design you can learn here but i believe we still have a decent digital community here.
