Whatever happened to the old traditional ways of just asking? All these games etc. no wonder why I prefer being single these days.

All of the games and BS that goes on while in the early stages are COMPLETE CRAP! You are either going to push the other person away.. or you are just going to make yourself look stupid. If you really like the person you wouldn't want to play games or hurt them.. make them jealous.... if you are playing games, do you really care about the person or do you care more about the thrill of the game?

Exactly!!
I could never understand why people play mind games, its just not right and tells me a lot about a person.

Yes! Well said! It's more about the thrill of the game, than it is the person.
I spent many years Bartending, and it is amazing how many women will fight over a man, in a city full of men.
It's obvious it's not about the man, it's about winning against another woman.
Some sick, "He likes me more than her." vanity, low self esteem, "gotta have the bad boy to feel worth anything" mentality.
..and it's never the software developer making 6 or 7 figures..it's always the broke ass, no future, bad manners, "Snoop Dog", or "K-Fed" wanna be that would be cool to hang out at a Tattoo shop with, but would embarrass you at a business function, kinda guy.
You know why? Because intelligent Men, don't play games. They don't have to, they attract intelligent women. (Most of the time)

I'm guessing you are calling me stupid then as I see no intelligent women around me. Actually my ex was as daft as a brush, but I loved her just the same.

Please! If I could count the amount of "Nut Jobs", and girls with low self esteem, daddy issues, Alcoholics, Gamble-a-holics, Pill Poppers, Cheaters, Liars, Tweakers, 3 kids-3 daddies, and just plain ole' loons, that I have dated in Las Vegas, it would take me all day to write them down.
It's still a crap shoot.
That is why I have a long standing rule...within the first 2 dates, there must be some drinking involved.
You can tell exactly who a person is when they have a few drinks in them, and save yourself a lot of time and agony.
Of course this plan is flawed should this result in an early "Hook up". That will skew your judgment for a few days or weeks. Next thing you know you are dating a complete loon that may or may not be, good in the sack.
*sigh*

I like your train of thought but it would be totally flawed for me. Firstly, some drinking to me is a session. Secondly, I am already too honest for my own good so I really dont need alcohol to make matters worse.

There are games that people play that I don't think they mean to play. The whole...I like you and you like me.. but we're not going to say anything to each other.. we will just roll along and make it like we are together but yet none of those rules of a relationship apply... I can still go out with and do whoever i want.... *sigh* Yes, that game SUCKS! Both parties are too chickenshit to actually make the commitment move. I believe mostly because there is still some doubt in whether or not the other person is interested.

I think its self explanatory, if you are pretending, you are not being sincere.
The two are mutually exclusive.
