Truth be told...
Everyone here knows (I hope) that I'm a person who doesn't like hurting people. I hate having people mad at me or disliking me. Becuase of that reason, I feel I need to tell you guys something.
3 years ago when I first started using the internet, I went to a chatroom called "Teen Mania." Before I started chatting I saw the rules, which one of them said "Please don't tell your age."
I thought "hmm, ok." So I went into the chatroom, and after chatting for a while, someone asked for my age. I told them 29. Truth be told, back then I was only 13.
Yes, you read that right.... I'm not 32 right now, I'm a 16 year old male from Boston Massachusetts. I'm sorry to bring you all along on a lie, but trust me - it first started out as a way to protect myself on the internet (when I was younger). Overtime, it grew into something much more.
I do not mean to hurt anyone. I've actually wrote a message like this to this forum, but I've never had enough "guts" to press the "submit" button.
Everything I told you besides my age is pretty much true. I have 2 jobs, I'm a republican that loves Bush (heh, greg ...), I'm a webmaster, I'm a youth leader (I was chosen by the other leaders because im the "most mature" 16 year old they've ever seen).
I know people are very forgiving, or at least the people I've experienced in my own life whenever I've made mistakes. I ask everyone for their forgiveness on this forum. I know that this will hurt some people on this forum and they may never forgive me - that's my fault.
John, if you want to take my admin access away, that's ok. If you want to take my hosting away, that's ok. I'll still be on this forum no matter what.
I'm shaking like crazy as I'm writing this, but I ask you guys and girls to please reply with any comments, questions, or bashing statements you have. I deserve every one of them that I get.
I hope to finally get this monkey (which has turned into an Orangutang) off my back.
Cheers
*nervously presses the submit button*

Lots of people lie about their age on the Internet. Age doesn't matter. You're still cool

Brian, age is just a number. Who cares if your 16, 32 or 102... You are an asset to the forum, help people whenever you can, and you are a likeable guy. Don't sweat the small stuff.

My only comment is I wish you would hurry up and mature so you could understand what a complete joke George Bush is.
Other than that who gives a damn about age? I'm 116 years old and I'm still doing fine. All that matters is your interest and willingness to learn and then you willingness to share it with others.
But get that Bush thing fixed. He is a dangerous, maniacal egomaniac. They fear, despise and hate him in Europe. Americans should do the same.

Heh, that's ok. I suspect when I'm 80 years old I'll have George Bush bumper stickers on my car.
Thanks for the replies everyone. It makes me feel better

Whats bad is that the internet being a place where young people need to lie about their age so they dont get preyed upon by the sick worthless sacks of crap that are out there.
Brian, its all good. There are alot of members here that are your peers reguarless of age.

well, you are in the minority brian:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/...lls/index.html
It is fine though that you are 16, i see nothing wrong with it. havn't you posted a picture on here before? was that one really you?
I must say you are much more mature than the other 16 year olds running around here, which makes you alright in my book.

they are in the extreme minority. Which is strange because younger people (<30) tend to be republican, and those who are more wealthy to a certain level tend to be republican(the upper portion is actually democrat). Which is what makes up the online population, those younger than 30 and those who are wealthy enough to afford a computer and good internet... it is really odd how it turned out, but hey, i am not complaining, i am just trying to profit off of it. It is this report that made me decide to make hillstyle

Spear,
An intelligent person will listen and learn and as a result of what they learn may change their mind.
We have had people come to this forum convinced that "content is king". We have reasoned and argued with them and many have learned and changed their minds.
Only idiots and idealogues like Jill Whalen and George Bush refuse to change there minds.
Who would you rather have do your SEO work. Someone mature enough to have listened and learned and change their mind or Jill Whalen?

IMO age is just a number, nothing more, nothing less. I'm a 23 yr old business owner with a well established web development company, office and all. The suprise on some client's faces when i tell them my age always makes me laugh.
Proof be told, it doesnt matter how old you are, it matters as to what you know, and how you contribute your knowledge.
