I've seen both the British and American series and have to say the British one is still the original and the best!

The British one is pretty funny but the Americans thought that the humour wouldn't translate as well so they wanted to remake it for them

Obviously I think the original is best, but I enjoyed the US version as well - Steve Carrell did very well IMO but given that the premise of the show is that 'this is a documentary', I never believed it because he's pretty well known. They should have used an unknown actor - that's why the original is solid gold and the US version is 'merely' very good.
