This is kind of interesting - I know 5 women who all had breast cancer when they were in their late 20s early 30s. (they don't know each other, I'm their one common link) What's interesting is, they all developed it while pregnant - and they were all pregnant with girls. Thank God all of them are now healthy, but one of the ladies had two more recurrences - each time she was, again, pregnant with a girl. I wonder if there's something to this?
Studies have shown that estrogen does fuel some types of tumors, and when you're pregnant with a daughter, your body also is affected by her estrogen. Hmm

Yeah, interesting that you should say that. The cancer that I had was a hormone receptive cancer - meaning that it responded and grew because of the estrogen in my body.
I am pretty sure that your friends must carry this faulty gene, because it carries with it an 80% chance of developing breast cancer before the age of 50.
It also has the added bonus of a 50% chance of developing ovarian cancer - so I had my ovaries removed as a precaution, which also reduces my estrogen output, putting me through an early menopause. This is good because it lowers that chance of the cancer coming back.
I am really lucky to have already had 2 kids. I have a girl and a boy. It would be difficult to know what we know now, and make the choice about maybe risking developing cancer and having a child, or not having children at all.
Thanks for all of your encouragement guys

I appreciate it heaps. A few of you were around when I was going through the worst times, and even though you don't know it you all inspired me
