Carter I'm writing you in my 'bad' book. I hate this thread
I'm not allowed chocolate, diabetic
I ate too much of it and now I'm paying for my sins.

I have a couple of favorite brands;
- van Houten (Dutch)
- Cote d'Or (Belgian)
- Leonidas (Belgian pralines)
..and I feel ya SITA, I nearly blew up my liver once because of eating too much chocolate, luckily it could get cured (took months of diet and medicines) and I can still enjoy chocolate now. I did realize that excessive chocolate eating can really make you ill.

I can't eat a lot of chocolate... not due to medical reasons or anything, but because it is really sweet, and Im not big on sweets. So I eat it in small quantities on rare occassions when I get a craving. But my favorite chocolate candy is... Ice Cubes! My mom said she used to eat them as a kid, and I finally tried them like 7 years ago. They are delicious.

Dude how much did you eat?
Thanks for the thought Ferre. I'm used to avoiding chocolates and sweets these days, but every now and again I get a craving. Usually when someone brings it to my mind, CARTER .
Just joking.
The thing I do find strange these days is that I remember as a child having many different kinds of sweets and cakes available, but it seems these days virtually everything is covered in chocolate. We seem to have lost the variety we once had, or am I imagining this? Maybe I just don't buy any so I don't get to see the variety.

My favorites: On occasion, I make a bunch of different kinds of fudge and truffles. They're so rich that only one or two will do.

Just a note to the masses:
White chocolate (blehhhhhhhhhggg) is not chocolate. It is a compound made from cocoa butter and not cocoa. Gross stuff.

lol!
Well, I've been calling it by that name for a long time now - but, it's usually just inside my head. I find that "cocoa-lard" isn't a word I find many opportunities to use in general conversation. (til now, of course!)

Cote d'Or from Belgium. My absolute favorites. I bring back loads every time I'm over in Belgium or the Netherlands.
