My aunt stopped smoking on the spot when she saw a lady collapse and die in front of her at the grocery store because of lung cancer.

that should be enough to make a person quit but...
I've got a buddy who's dad is in the hospital right now because of cancer from smoking and my buddy still smokes a pack a day.
What a strangle hold on society smoking has.

*scratch that*
I smoke again, and I can't recall why I stopped.
And, damn, I feel like myself again. Those were a weird few months.
*going outside for a smoke break*

Read the book again.
It took my father two heart attacks before he finally stopped. He then lived for another 35 years without another one. OK, smoking may not be the direct cause, but it was part of the problem and eliminating it helped to improved his health enough for him to live much longer than he would have done otherwise.
It is the most precious gift you could give yourself.

Acupuncture?
The threat of needles is usually enough to persuade me of anything.
During the early part of the last century the cigarette companies used to tout the benefits of smoking. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to do it again at some point.

Wow.. you inspire me there.. I'm planning to stop smoking.. sooner or later.. but I cant fight the urge not to smoke especially if I'm toxic and when dealing with so many complicated things.. Its like when i smoke, it gives me a peace for a moment and then somehow give me a strength to go on..
But still, em happy for you! cheers~

Anyone else quit recently or planning on quiting?
