True, the gym is full of people who feel the need to make light conversation and ask personal questions.
The person below me, believes that by retaining ones humility, that said person who is also wise, reduces rivalry.

Of course! But it takes way too many hours in the gym to work off cookies, so it is very rare that I buy any.
The person below me drinks way too many sodas a day.

I freshly squeeze what I drink, otherwise I don't drink it, unless it's vodka, then I make an exception.
The person below me knows what real pizza is all about.

That made me laugh. No I'm cheap. Unless it comes down to spending money on my son, then it's what makes him happy, although even then it's to a degree, too many spoiled brats running around these days for him to be one too.
The Person below me dislikes elevators.

Yes I do!
I use the stairs if the elevator doesn't look new to me!

The person below me loves the state of Texas.

Medium-rare!
As long as the steak is tender, I am not too finicky about the cut.
There is nothing quite as good as homemade pecan pie, especially if it is warm with ice cream melting all over it, but dang, that is a once a year thing!
The person below me understands the term "fixin' to" . . .

When I moved to DC for a year, i quickly learned, that using such expressions, as I have a tendency to do so, was considered improper English. Just read it out loud, felt refreshing too!
The person below me hates it when someone (mainly from the east coast) compliments their southern accent?

LMAO . . .
People do have a way of commenting on the way Southern girls talk, but even then, there is a wide variance in the accents down South. Mine is a mix of Texas and Mississippi, and is pretty soft unless I am sleepy. If I get sleepy, or a bit tipsy, it gets stronger, and you will hear a more pronounced drawl.
The person below me knows that a person's accent is not a reflection of their intelligence.
