Would a pink gun tempt women to buy guns do think?

I am astounded, in fact it is fair to say that my gast has been totally flabbered. And why, it seems gun shops in the US have been thinking. They think that if they stock pink guns it will encourage more women to buy guns.

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2524635.html

Can anybody confirm that pink guns are being sold in the US?
Would you buy a pink gun?
Is there any sanity left in the US anymore?

Pink, glittery, black, or brown - I wouldn't buy one at all! I just don't see the need.

We never had any sanity to begin with.

For some reason I find that picture extremely funny and disturbing at the same time.

Yep, I had the same feeling. And I don't find an AK47 to be very feminine, even when it's pink.

There have always been accessories available to make your guns more personal....pearl / painted and other decorative handles and such. I think it's great for pistols if it encourages more females to carry protection.

I don't personally care for "flashy". All of my guns are stock except for scopes and such and are traditional colors. Still, it makes no difference to me what color gun a girl carries, so long as she's well trained with it. What's most important is that she's protected.

I would have to agree with South......

Guns don't kill people, People Kill People..... As long as the person is well trained in the handling & safety of a fire arm, along with NO prior criminal records (As our law in the U.S. States).. Then I think a fire Arm whether its personalized Pink / Purple / Green / Or Orange is Ok.

Sanity? I think by allowing citizens of our country to protect them self & their loved ones along with the additional governing laws to posses that right is one of the things that makes this country Great.

Do i think everyone should have a gun? Absolutely NOT.. Thats why we have laws that aid in who should posses & who shouldn't.

Are these laws 100% effective? No, nothing is 100% effective in this world, let's get real. There will always be the % of Humans that go through a spontaneous / Unplanned meltdown & make the Wrong choice with a fire arm. at that time there rights are stripped from ever owning another one legally.

I think the biggest problem is the black market gun runners / smugglers providing Felons & career criminals with Fire arms.

The right to own a fire arm helps protect Law abiding families from these types of gun owners.

Now on the Marketing end, do i think that a Pink gun will boost sales to females? Sure, I think Pink, Violate, Baby Blue, Lavender, etc.. (Girly Colors) will attract a "Younger" female fire arms purchase.

Kinda makes me think of guns like Ipods though (One in every Purse). Might make the rapists think twice before taking another victim though.

Making guns available in girly colors is not going to convince a girl that has no interest in owning a gun to buy one. Simple as that. If a girl buys a gun in pink because she thinks it'd make a cute accessory, I'd be scared. I would hope that in purchasing one she would be doing so for the right reasons.

Agreed Julie, However I think it would be for the right reasons, as you can probably attest too, the Female species seems to be a bit more in tune with color coordination & fashion sense. (This being a primary catalyst in a color motivated purchase)

How about if it was pastel pink with red polka dots?

I have the "unpopular" opinion that there are FARRRR too many guns in this country. I don't buy the garbage that is so often thrown out there as a defense. (no pun intended)

Whoa, I think this is something that us UK'ers need to keep out of as our gun laws are so different from yours.

If it works well for you guys and you are happy with it, then cool

I think there are too many guns in irresponsible hands. There is truth in the statement "guns don't kill, people do".

Sure, there are a lot of accidental deaths with guns. Stupid. Perhaps it would be awesome if guns never existed. Or if nobody had guns. That would be beautiful.

But the real cause of violence is never a gun. Never. It's people. If you handed a gun to every Japanese person, and handed a gun to every American person, and waited a year, there would be a huge heap of American people dead, and maybe a couple dozen Japanese dead.

Maybe the focus should be on the cause of the violence, and not a facilitating tool (guns)?
