Because of definition 3.a, I suppose that it could be construed that #4 could make sense, but it's position of importance is below even secondary, and it's one that I never think of when I hear the word "crossroad", I think of the primary definitions. Now, I may be missing something, that's always possible.

edit:Ok cancel that, I overlooked "by-road" and just looked it up and see that #4 qualifies to make sense by definition #2. Still not the primary definition, but they all make sense to me now. Nice one.
