Rock Lobster .. The B52's
We were at a party
His ear lobe fell in the deep
Someone reached in and grabbed it
It was a rock lobster
We were at the beach
Everybody had matching towels
Somebody went under a dock
And there they saw a rock
It wasn't a rock
It was a rock lobster
Motion in the ocean
Oooo Wooo
His air hose broke
Oooo Wooo
Lots of trouble
Oooo Wooo
Lots of bubble
Oooo Wooo
He was in a jam
S'in a giant clam
Down, down
Underneath the waves
Mermaids wavin'
Wavin' to mermen
Wavin' sea fans
Sea horses sailin'
Dolphins wailin'
Red snappers snappin'
Clam shells clappin'
Muscles flexin'
Flippers flippin'
Down, down
Let's rock!
Boy's in bikinis
Girls in surfboards
Everybody's fruggin'
Twistin' 'round the fire
Havin' fun
Bakin' potatoes
Bakin' in the sun
Put on your noseguard
Hit on the Lifeguard
Pass the tanning butter
Here comes a stingray
There goes a manta-ray
In walked a jelly fish
There goes a dog-fish
Chased by a cat-fish
In flew a sea robin
Watch out for that piranha
There goes a narwhal
HERE COMES A BIKINI WHALE!

This song is among the great classics in it's genre ...
It's a spoof on the old 50's/60's beach party movies.... you know... Annette Funicello and Franky Avalon? Do you understand what this song is all about now ...or...? It makes fun of the old beach party movies... it also exploits the mysteriousness of the deep in a rather comical but uniquely inventive way with sounds and lyric ... capiche?
An extremely unusual and unique song, and very well done.

Everybody had matching towels?
Muscles flexin'?
Flippers flippin' .... hello?
Girls in surfboards ..... do you understand why this line is phrased this way?
Everybody's fruggin' ... do you know what The Frug was?
Helloooo? ...
Twistin' 'round the fire
Havin' fun ... ? .... Testing1,2 ... hello?

Sure as hell do .... one of my favorite bands ..
LET'S GET IT UP! ..
We played a few of their songs in a couple of my bands... and this is back when they were just getting famous. They became famous very quickly ... I remember that ... almost over night.
When their first album hit the shops ... one of my friends (not a band member though) was so excited about the band he drove 30 miles to pick me up and brought me to his place to get high and listen to the album, then 30 miles back! ... lol .. I remember it like it was yesterday.. lol
I was floored when I heard them... started learning the songs right away .. easy stuff to play, relatively speaking, but impossible to have it sound as good, and especially as "tight" ... they're among the greatest Rockers.. no doubt about it! ..

I was in a halfway house and roomed with a guy for 3 weeks that played Frank Sinatra every day... it was ok at first but... it eventually started to get to me in a negative way... thank God his time was up and left the place before I killed him...
The new guy who occupied the bed played a lot of Metalica and stuff like that, which was fine with me... I like Metalica quite a bit.
